Fitness Consulting @ FitMetabolism
Services
Include:
BASIC FITNESS APPRAISAL
This
program begins with an extensive assessment of your fitness. An exercise
physiologist will review the test results with you and compare them to
norms for your gender and age. Using this interpretation, a health risk
profile can be developed to determine your current health risks or
benefits associated with your current fitness level.
RESTING
METABOLIC RATE ASSESSMENT
An exercise physiologist will administer a resting metabolic rate
assessment to determine the number of calories your body burns at rest.
This will determine how healthy your metabolism is functioning.
EXERCISE
PRESCRIPTION
An exercise physiologist will design a take home or fitness facility
program based on your goals, interests, time, physical limitations and
equipment available. Adding fun and variety to your exercise regimen
while keeping you motivated.
FITWALK
PEDOMETER GOALS
An exercise physiologist will prescribe pedometer goals to increase your
daily physical activity through the use of current research on pedometer
activity. It includes access to our “Walk Across Canada Challenge” where
you will login your steps each day to begin your trek across our great
country.
WEIGHT
MANAGEMENT PROGRAMS
An exercise physiologist will conduct a resting metabolic rate test to
determine your metabolism and meet with you each month to more
effectively combine motivational techniques and periodization of each
exercise program. This is a four or six month plan that includes a basic
fitness assessment.
V02
ASSESSMENT
V02 max is affected by age, sex, conditioning status and the
presence of diseases. An exercise physiologist will conduct a V02
assessment using analysis of respiratory gases to evaluate your aerobic
fitness and compare them to norms for your gender and age.

Physical Activity:
1. Reduces
the risk of premature mortality in general, and coronary heart disease,
hypertension, high cholesterol, colon cancer and diabetes mellitus. It
also improves mental health and is important for healthy muscles, bones
and joints.
2. People
gain additional health benefits through greater amounts of physical
activity. People who can maintain a regular regime of activity that is
longer in duration or of more vigorous intensity are likely to derive
greater benefit.
3. To be
successful, long-term weight control programs should include exercise.
Exercise spares muscle and increases the bodies metabolism.
According to the Surgeon General’s office, regular physical activity may
be the single most important health practice for promoting wellness.
FitMetabolism will give you the necessary tools to begin an effective,
safe life style program.
