Okubo is a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and specializes in
Acupuncture, Shiatsu, and Traditional Herbal Medicine. As a
Registered Acupuncturist she practices both Japanese and Chinese
Acupuncture styles. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in
Psychology from the University of Calgary, and a Masters Degree in
Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the Oregon College of Oriental
Medicine in the United States. She is board certified with the
National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental
Medicine (NCCAOM) in the United States, and is also a Certified
Specialist with the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association
(NADA). Muriel has gained practical training in the treatment of drug
and and alcohol addictions. Muriel has had the fortunate opportunity
to learn from Japanese Masters (both in Canada and Japan) and Masters
in the United States, whom she has much gratitude and respect. Her
clinical experience involves the treatment of a wide range of
disorders including musculoskeletal pain, digestive, neurological,
menstrual, fertility, and emotional disorders. Muriel has taken many
specialty workshops and courses in advanced techniques, and in the
treatment of disease".
